Bradford-Shipley Travel Alliance – Page 19 – We believe any new road scheme between Bradford and Shipley must result in: Significantly improved air quality and safety in all residential areas affected by the proposed scheme, including for all schools. A response to the climate emergency including reduced carbon emissions, increased investment in public transport, walking and cycling, and less motor traffic overall. We request that no further consultation goes ahead without information that shows how the intended benefits of the scheme will be guaranteed.

From the start of 2026 we have ended our activities. We have won our campaign to stop the expansion of road traffic between Bradford and Shipley, and have welcomed West Yorkshire’s priority for public transport.

Thanks to Bradford’s Capital of Cycling, our website continues as an archive here. You can see all our posts since 2020, and use the search facility for issues that interest you.

If there are new proposals to increase road capacity rather than improve public transport, cycling and walking, we are sure there will again opposition in favour of health and climate. Thanks for your support in the past five years and in the future.
